Skit Day

This annual tradition takes place generally in April. We start off with lunch and then move onto skits. A lot of the skits are really more like "roasts" as they poke fun at situations that have occurred at the College of Medicine within the past year. Students and teachers are invited to create skits and display their acting abilities for all who attend. This is also some what of a talent show. Usually there are some good singers/musicians who take the opportunity to show off their skills. Skit night is always a good time and a lot of fun.

National Primary Care Week

National Primary Care Week is an annual National AMSA event. This is a particularly important week for AMSA because our mission is to improve “health care and healthcare delivery to all people; promoting active improvement in medical education; involving its members in the social, moral and ethical obligations of the profession of medicine; assisting in the improvement and understanding of world health problems; contributing to the welfare of medical students, interns, residents and post-MD/DO trainees; and advancing the profession of medicine.”

National Primary Care Week 2016 will be held October 3rd-7th at FSU COM. The events scheduled include lunch talks from physicians specializing in family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, ob/gyn, and geriatrics; a panel for the undergraduate premedical students on primary care; a health fair; and a "Grand Rounds" style" panel featuring young primary care physicians.
