Our Local Area

Sarasota is a city south of Tampa on the gulf coast of Florida. The most obvious highlight of our area is our beaches. Sarasota is home to Siesta Key Beach, ranked the #2 Best Beach in the U.S. and #9 Best Beach in the World in 2024 by TripAdvisor’s Traveler’s Choice Awards ™.  Siesta is only one beach among many that all offer amazing views and activities. Finding shark teeth on Venice beach, having a picnic on Casey Key, or kayaking through the mangroves on Manasota Key are only a few of the amazing things you can do on your days off here in Sarasota. If you’re a foodie you’re in luck. Sarasota boasts the highest number of Zagat rated restaurants of any city in the state! Our restaurants offer a variety of culture, from Peruvian to Hungarian and everything in between meaning there is something for everyone. Living on the gulf coast of Florida means being able to spend all year outside doing fun activities with family and friends. You can golf at one of Sarasota’s 76 ranges, get a view of alligators and more in our beautiful Myakka State Park, swim with the fish while you scuba dive a shipwreck from 1919, or have a lazy stroll through one of our 10 farmers markets. More of an indoor person? No problem- indoor entertainment options include performances from the renowned Sarasota Orchestra and the Sarasota Ballet, plays at the Historic Asolo Theater, and musical or comedy shows at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall. It’s no surprise that Sarasota was ranked number 5 by US News and World Report on its best places to live in the US. In fact, it ranked number 2 on its fastest growing city for 2023-2024. Better get here quick while you can!
