PRIDE in Healthcare Organization (Promoting Recognition of Identity, Dignity, and Equality)
The mission of PRIDE in Healthcare Organization(Promoting Recognition of Identity, Dignity, & Equality) at FSU COM is to provide support to LGBTQ students and the community in the following areas:
- Education– increase student and public knowledge of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) healthcare concerns
- Service– volunteer time to organizations committed to advancing the causes of the LGBTQ+ community
- Advocacy– promote and campaign for equality in healthcare, employment, and family matters
- Collaboration– work together with LGBTQ+ groups in other fields of study to further LGBT issues
- Mentorship– offer support and mentoring to pre-medical students and LGBTQ+ youth
- Support – provide supporting events with a welcoming and safe environment for all participants
