The Clinic as Curriculum
At the heart of our program is the belief that the clinic is the curriculum. To support this, we utilize a "Clinic-First" scheduling model for PGY-2 and PGY-3 residents. By alternating dedicated weeks in the clinic with dedicated weeks on specialty rotations, we reduce fragmentation and travel, allowing you to be fully present for your patients and fully engaged in your learning.
In our clinic, you lead a high-functioning Integrated Model of Care. Working alongside core faculty, nurses, behavioral health specialists, pharmacists, and social workers, you will master the complexities of modern medicine within a collaborative environment. As your practice evolves, you will also engage in specialized clinic experiences tailored to your passions, including MOUD(Addiction Medicine), Women’s Health, Pediatrics, and Sports Medicine.
Our didactic curriculum is protected time, allowing residents to focus entirely on their education for a half day each week. These sessions will include evidence-based discussions in the classroom and hands-on workshops in the simulation lab.
Our academic schedule covers core family medicine topics through a blend of interactive lectures, journal clubs to refine critical appraisal skills, and comprehensive board preparation. This time is further enhanced by dedicated procedure workshops, ensuring you gain the technical confidence and clinical knowledge necessary for full-spectrum practice within a collaborative learning environment.
