Wellness

The Advanced Gastrointestinal and Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellowship is committed to supporting the fellow’s personal well-being, professional growth, and long-term success.

As a single-fellow program, we provide individualized mentorship, regular operative feedback, and monthly meetings with the program director to discuss clinical progress, career goals, and scholarly activities. Training occurs at one clinical facility, providing continuity while eliminating travel between rotation sites. General surgery call is limited to approximately three to four nights per month, with appropriate faculty support.

The fellow is part of the broader Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare and Florida State University GME community and has access to institutional wellness resources, confidential support services, and fitness benefits.

Tallahassee also offers an excellent quality of life, with convenient access to parks, trails, lakes, Gulf Coast beaches, and year-round outdoor recreation.
