About Me

Joey Jarrard, M.D. is a board-certified, fellowship-trained general surgeon in Tallahassee, Florida. Originally from a small town in southern Georgia, Dr. Jarrard earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia. He completed his surgical residency at Mercer University/Medical Center at Navicent Health in Macon, Georgia, where he developed an interest in bariatric surgery. To further his expertise, he pursued fellowship training at Saint Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. During this additional year of training, he focused on advanced laparoscopic and robotic techniques in foregut, reflux and bariatric surgery, as well as colorectal and abdominal wall reconstruction

Dr. Jarrard’s surgical interests include bariatric surgery, foregut/reflux surgery, and complex hernia repair. He primarily performs these procedures through minimally invasive approaches, ensuring quicker recovery times and less discomfort for his patients. Dr. Jarrard is committed to offering a wide range of surgical options, believing that each patient’s treatment plan should be tailored to their individual needs. He values the opportunity to build strong relationships with his patients and loves helping them achieve their successes and improved quality of life.

About Me

Brett Howard, M.D., FACS was born in Miami, Florida and is a graduate of Florida State University. He obtained his medical degree at Florida State University. His residency was at The Medical Center of Central Georgia and its affiliation with Mercer University.  

Dr. Howard has nearly 10 years of experience here in Tallahassee helping expand the general surgery program, including Trauma and local Pediatric surgical care. He is Board Certified in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Through his time at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare he has helped establish the Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery and Hernia Surgery by the Surgical Review Corporation (SRC). Serving as Quality Chair of Surgery at TMH, Dr. Howard has made high quality surgical care his mission for the Big Bend region. When he’s not working, Dr. Howard and his wife like to enjoy the outdoors with their four children.

About Me

James Parker, MD, joined TMH Physician Partners – General Surgery in 2023, focusing on minimally-invasive and robot-assisted procedures. A Trinity School of Medicine graduate, Dr. Parker completed his surgical training at Mercer University in Macon, GA, then did a fellowship with specialized training in Minimally Invasive Surgery at Saint Luke's Hospital in Kansas City. He resides in Tallahassee with his wife, Lynndsey Parker, MD , and three young children.

Dr. Parker performs a variety of minimally invasive procedures, including:

About Me

Jarrod Robertson, MD, is a colon and rectal surgeon at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare, specializing in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of conditions affecting the colon, rectum and anus.

Dr. Robertson earned his medical degree from the Florida State University College of Medicine in Tallahassee after graduating summa cum laude from Florida State University with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and a minor in chemistry. He completed his general surgery residency at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia, where he served as administrative chief resident. He then completed a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at Orlando Health.

Throughout his training, Dr. Robertson received several honors for his leadership and commitment to medical education, including the Carl Boyd Chief Resident Award, two Resident Teaching Awards and Intern of the Year. He is also a member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society.

Dr. Robertson has contributed to research on colorectal and robotic surgery, including the surgical management of ulcerative colitis and robotic surgical techniques. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, American College of Surgeons and Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.

A graduate of both Florida State University and the FSU College of Medicine, Dr. Robertson returned to Tallahassee in 2023 to care for patients in the community where he began his medical training.
