Scholarly Activity

Scholarly Activity

All residents are required to complete a scholarly activity during their Transitional Year.

Specific requirements, faculty mentorship and resources for completing the Scholarly Activity will be discussed during Block 1.  A variety of activities can be considered Scholarly Activity.  Examples which fulfill the Scholarly Activity requirement include case presentations and posters submitted and accepted at local and national conferences (the program will work on a case-by-case basis to provide financial support for registration and attendance), being a presenter at Winter Haven Hospital Grand Rounds (held monthly) or Morbidity and Mortality Conference (held quarterly), editing or writing textbook chapters or participation in research or quality improvement projects.

All residents will present their Scholarly Activity to the faculty and their peers during Block 12 and 13.
