Endbulb of Held terminals Postsynaptic FMRP deficiency leads to the underdevelopment of presynaptic terminals (gray channel). FMRP level was reduced in EGFP-expressing neurons (Green) by electroporating an Fmr1 shRNA into the precursors of NM neurons. Neighboring EGFP-negative neurons are synapsed by normal-looking endbulb terminals with characterized finger-like branches (yellow arrows). The endbulb terminal on EGFP+ neurons is less complex. |
