Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements established by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). At the time of matriculation, applicants must have successfully completed at least three clinical years (PGY-3) in an ACGME-accredited General Surgery residency program.
The Florida State University College of Medicine Surgical Critical Care Fellowship strongly prefers applicants who have completed an ACGME-accredited General Surgery residency and are eligible for or certified by the American Board of Surgery (ABS) prior to the start of fellowship. Preference is given to applicants who have demonstrated excellence in clinical performance, professionalism, scholarship, and a commitment to a career in surgical critical care, trauma, or acute care surgery.
Applicants must also satisfy all employment and credentialing requirements of Florida State University College of Medicine and Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare, including eligibility for unrestricted medical licensure in the State of Florida.
Additional Program Requirements
Completion of an ACGME-accredited General Surgery residency program is strongly preferred.
- The program does not sponsor J-1 visas. Applicants must be eligible for employment in the United States without the need for J-1 visa sponsorship.
- Applicants must be eligible to obtain unrestricted medical licensure in the State of Florida prior to appointment.
