*Anatomy and Physiology can be taken separtely with labs for a total of 8 semester hours.
There is no expiration date for prerequisite coursework. However, the length of time since the courses were completed will be taken into consideration as part of the overall admission decision. More recent is considered favorable.
Survey courses will not satisfy prerequisite science requirements.
COVID-19 Prerequisite and Direct Patient Care Hours Statement
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the FSU School of Physician Assistant Program (SPAP) will allow applicants to have up to two prerequisite courses outstanding at time of application submission for the 2024 cycle, which begins May 1 st , 2024.
If accepted, outstanding prerequisites must be completed by the end of the Spring 2025 semester to matriculate into the program.
We also have extended the deadline for Direct Patient Care hours. Applicants may apply to the FSU SPAP with outstanding Direct Patient Care hours with the expectation that the hours will be completed by the end of the Spring 2025 semester.
