UWF Physician Assistant

Pipeline Program (PAPP)

The Physician Assistant Pipeline Program is a mission-based program. The goal is to recruit and train qualified Florida panhandle students to become physician assistants who will care for elderly, rural, minority, and underserved populations in Florida.

Panhandle students with a history of strong academic success and a commitment to underserved care are encouraged to apply to the Pipeline Program. As part of the PA Pipeline partnership agreement between Florida State University and the University of West Florida, up to 8 students for the class matriculating in 2018, and up to 10 students for the class matriculating in 2019 and beyond may be selected for admission to the FSU School of Physician Assistant Practice through the Pipeline Program. Pipeline students must meet specific criteria to be eligible for this program.

Pipeline Admissions Requirements:

  • Must reside permanently in a Florida panhandle county (listed below)
  • Meet all admissions requirements for FSU School of Physician Assistant Practice
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • Have a prerequisite GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • Have an average GRE score of greater than or equal to 150 on the Verbal and Quantitative sections.
  • Successfully complete the program interview process in Tallahassee
  • Agree to complete all clinical rotations in Pensacola

  • Submit application through the Central Application Service for Physician Assistants (CASPA)

**Note: Those students who do not meet the criteria established for the Pipeline Program, but meet the regular FSU PA Program admission requirements may still apply to the PA program as a general applicant.** .
