Scholarly Activity
All residents are required to complete at least one scholarly activity during their residency training. Projects may include quality improvement initiatives, clinical or educational research, case reports, educational materials or involvement in hospital committees.
Faculty mentorship and program resources are available to guide residents throughout the process. Residents will present their work to peers and faculty as part of the residency curriculum, and additional support is available for those who wish to pursue research more extensively.
The purpose of scholarly activity within our program is multifaceted. These efforts advance residents’ understanding of research principles, including how studies are designed, evaluated and applied to patient care. Participation fosters an atmosphere of inquiry, strengthens the ability to critically appraise medical literature and cultivates a career-long curiosity and passion for learning.
Further details and expectations will be shared during orientation and reinforced throughout training.
