Medical Students

We are pleased to offer a limited number of OB-GYN externships/sub-internships to active fourth-year medical students who are graduating from a U.S.-accredited medical school.

Curriculum and Experience

Students will have the opportunity to work alongside our residents and faculty in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Experiences may include:

• Participation in labor and delivery with exposure to normal and high-risk obstetrics
• Opportunities in gynecologic surgery and minimally invasive procedures
• Outpatient care in our residency continuity clinic
• Additional tailored experiences in maternal-fetal medicine, family planning, and subspecialty clinics based on student interest

Rotations are available in two-week or four-week blocks.

Requirements

• Must be a fourth-year medical student in good standing at a U.S.-accredited medical school
• We do not offer observerships or externships for non-U.S. students or graduates
• Rotations are contingent upon an executed affiliation agreement between Lee Health and the student’s medical school.
• Additional credentialing and compliance paperwork is required before the start of the rotation

• A current CV
• Verification of immunizations and other required health documents
• Any additional documentation requested by Lee Health
