Carrie Lynn Johnson, M.D., is the Program Director for the OB/GYN Residency Program and a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist with extensive experience in OB hospital medicine. A graduate of the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine, she completed her residency at University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. Her clinical interests include blood management and anemia, cardio-obstetrics, and simulation-based education and training. Dr. Johnson is an active leader in the Society of OB/GYN Hospitalists and serves on multiple national committees, contributing to simulation program development and education. She enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 boys, pets, watching baking shows, and reading historical fiction.

Jeff Smith, M.D., is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist who grew up in a family full of women, which shaped his strong sense of advocacy for women’s and gender-diverse individuals’ health and access to care. He loves practicing obstetrics and gynecology because, in his opinion, it is the most unique and rewarding field of medicine. Dr. Smith takes pride in helping his patients bring new life into the world, and he is equally passionate about providing evidence-based practices and up-to-date medical knowledge so that patients feel empowered to make decisions about their health, wellness, and reproductive planning.

In addition to patient care, Dr. Smith remains committed to improving practice quality and efficiency. He contributes to system work groups focused on implementing virtual health resources, collaborating with EMR builders, and improving order sets to optimize care delivery. He is also a contributor to Lee Health’s Health Matters segments, where he helps increase community awareness while highlighting evidence-based practices.

Cathy Dahl, D.O., has served on numerous hospital committees (e.g. OBGYN Quality, Medial Staff, Robotics Steering, etc.) and is a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopist and American Urogynecologic Society, among others. She will bring a plethora of business acumen and physician leadership experience to her teaching role in the program in addition to her subspecialty expertise.

Craig Sweet, M.D., is very active in patient, nursing and physician education and is a member of more than a dozen various professional organizations and medical societies. He currently serves on the Lee Memorial Health Systems (LMHS) HealthPark Ethics Consultation Group, and the Pediatric Subcommittee of the HealthPark Ethics Consultation Group.

Dr. Sweet has been voted as the region's top Reproductive Endocrinologist by Gulfshore Life in 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009 & 2010. He is also frequently quoted in local and national magazines commenting on such topics as surrogacy, oocyte cryopreservation and embryo donation.

Dr. Sweet’s current areas of research include oocyte cryopreservation, male-factor infertility and embryo donation. He has also written on contemporary issues including truth-in-advertising in the field of reproductive medicine.

Laura Pineiro, M.D., discovered her passion for medicine early, inspired by her experience as a young mother to pursue a career in women’s health. An OB/GYN with over 18 years of clinical experience, she is dedicated to empowering women through education, advocacy, and compassionate care. Fluent in Spanish, she proudly serves the diverse community of Lee County, ensuring language and culture are never barriers to care. Beyond the clinic, she is active in community outreach, maternal health education, and mentoring future healthcare professionals.

Jade Mas, M.D., is an obstetrician/gynecologist with Lee Health and is certified in Robotic Surgery and minimally invasive procedures. She chose a career in healthcare as she was inspired by navigating the healthcare system as a child, and she wanted to "give back" to the people who saved her life. Dr. Mas remembers feeling safe, cared for and blessed to walk out of the hospital. It is her greatest work to ensure she does everything in her power to make her patients feel safe, cared for and blessed.
