The residency participates in the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP). Applications must be submitted through the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS). Please do not submit any application materials directly to the Program, Program Director, or Program Coordinator.

Requirements:

Minimum Program Requirements are set by our sponsoring institution, Florida State University College of Medicine. Any acceptance to the program is contingent upon successful completion of medical school and other regulatory requirements.  To be considered for selection to the program, applicants MUST submit:

  • CV
  • Personal Statement
  • Dean's Letter  
  • Medical school transcript  
  • Three letters of recommendation  
  • USMLE/COMLEX Scores, both I and II  

Additional Information for IMG applicants:

Some of our residents come from non-US schools. We are committed to attracting the best and brightest, no matter where they are trained. 

We do accept foreign medical graduates under J-1 status through the ECFMG.  

Requirements: 

  • Knowledge of and commitment to the discipline of family medicine
  • Strong interpersonal skills and work ethic
  • Excellent facility with the English language-- written, spoken, and idiomatic
  • Excellent medical school performance
  • Excellent recommendations from medical school evaluators
  • Valid ECFMG certificate, or high likelihood of certification by Feb. 1
  • Prior clinical experience in US or very similar health system
  • Citizenship, permanent residency status, or visa status that will allow you to work in the US without delay
  • Passing of USMLE Steps 1 & 2 CK within two attempts  Preferred
  • Graduation from medical school within the past four years • Employment (not just observerships) for six months in a clinically-relevant position in the US or very similar system
