Favorite Part of HMSS: 

My favorite part about HMSS is the opportunity it gave me to connect with and spend quality time with other members. In HMSS, I've met hard-working, caring, and genuine people who were willing to be much more than random faces I saw every other week. The people in HMSS have this unique ability to make me feel as if we're part of one big family. They check in on me, encourage me, understand my struggles, and always make me feel as if I have a place to call home no matter how far I am from my hometown. HMSS allowed me to meet some of the loveliest people I know, and I'll forever be grateful for this society for doing that for me.

Why Medicine?

One of the worst feelings in the world is seeing someone suffer but not being able to do anything for them. Ever since middle school, I've wanted to get the knowledge and practice needed to help those who are ill, regardless of if it's physically or mentally. By going into medicine, I'll have the chance to provide the medical care and support so many people desperately need. I might only be one person, but I know that in the future there will be hundreds of people in hospitals who will be happy I was the one they came across.
