What do you like about HMSS?
HMSS is a unique program that allows undergraduate students to become acquainted with the FSU College of Medicine and experience guidance from like-minded peers and professionals in the medical profession. HMSS is one big community, and I am overjoyed that I have found this group of individuals that will encourage and advise me over my undergraduate career. HMSS provides invaluable experiences and promotes a welcoming environment where members can grow as individuals and students. I know I can turn to any student or faculty member in HMSS when I need it and be greeted by genuine interest and guidance. This sentiment means a lot to me and I am excited to learn and serve alongside HMSS.
Why do you want to go into medicine?
I want to go into medicine because I have seen the miracles of modern medicine first-hand and I want to use my education and experiences to better the lives of others. My brother has a genetic disorder and has been to countless doctors, and this experience has demonstrated to me the profound impact that physicians can have on individuals. I have always had a passion for serving others, and a career in medicine promotes active engagement with members of an individual’s community. My family has been insurmountably impacted by the incredible healthcare providers in our lives, and because of this, it is my mission to one day do the same for other families.
